Someone Got Paid for That? (25 pts)

So as we know, Troy and Gabriella were not going to follow through with the audition due to schedule conflicts. So I believe I'll keep it the same all the way up until they get on the stage. From there, I'll make the scene more intimate. I'll do this by giving them an audience only of Troy's father, his friend Chad, Sharpay and Ryan, and of course the musical director. There needs to be a sense of realization from their audience that "we've stopped them from doing something they could be great at". They need to see that they have hindered their growth as well-rounded individuals. I would take out the cheesy dance moves and just have them sitting at a piano. The track will be playing overhead as a means to make it look like Troy is playing. Also, if not to be so bold i would also have changed the song to where it is simply just a duet with a piano. This will make it more dramatic and less cheesy.

This scene needs to be meaningful. It needs to represent them breaking the molds that have been made around them and growing into their own. The reason I have them sitting at a piano and singing is, while they need to interact as it is a musical audition, they need to be more serious. I can't tell you how much their dancing around has always ticked me off. I will remove the mass crowd as it is destracting to the moment and the importance of the scene. I believe it is important for them to be scene by people going against "the status quo" (dear lord forgive that one) and performing in the less than desirable act of... well acting. However, it does not need to be focused on the key people who have forced them to play basketball and be a science nerd. Everyone else is so insignificant, i have no idea why the screenwriter wrote them in to begin with.
